Marionettes

Written by Daniel Damian Pak (ASCAP)

we are always in this situation
using our guns for domination
I know one day it all will change
our whole world will feel less pain

it happened once
it will happen again
control they desire
and they’re willing to send
a hundred thousand men
just to “keep the peace”
while their cameras only show you
what they want you to see
their puppets are molded
and shipped right in
now they’re sitting on the thrones
pretending to be kings
people of the world
unite and fight
and one day we will cut the strings

we are always in this situation
using our guns for domination
I know one day it all will change
our whole world will feel less pain

send our brothers and our sisters home
they don’t belong there anymore
leave the rest of the world alone
we don’t belong there anymore

it’s not that easy
no, it’s not that easy
to look at your child and say,
“I know he made that promise
but your Daddy’s not coming home today”
and if you saw her tears
with your own eyes
maybe one day
you’d open your eyes and you’d realize
what’s going on

we are always in this situation
using our guns for domination
I know one day it all will change
our whole world will feel less pain

send our brothers and our sisters home
they don’t belong there anymore
leave the rest of the world alone
we don’t belong there anymore
