Spreading the Aloha in Oregon

It was a typical cloudy and grey Seattle day when we met for coffee with members of the Pacific University Hawai’i Club at the historic Panama Hotel in Chinatown. They were on their way up to Canada for the weekend and our braddah Kizamu Tsutakawa, who just happens to be the top goal scorer for their Northwest Conference championship soccer team, made the introduction. It felt like we were back in the islands talking story with Jasmine and friends, and they were the very first to get a sneak peek (via impromptu listening party on the street out of the truck speakers) at the fresh new tracks off the upcoming ‘World War Free’ EP.

A month later we set a date and that date is next Thursday, March 17th, when we pack some aloha in the van and bring it down to Pacific University for The Pre-Lu’au and Spring Break Send-Off Concert. And so, Forest Grove, land of lush grape vineyards, wineries, and one of the largest lu’aus on the mainland (average attendance: 2200; average cargo shipped from Hawai’i: 10,000 lbs) – see you next week!
